2012 Annual Sweetheart Auction. Saturday, Feb. 4, 5-8 pm

The Sweetheart Auction is the major fundraising event for the Cancer Foundation for New Mexico. Karen Halbert's "Diablo Canyon" will be one of the Silent Auction entries. November 2011. 4 person juried Placitas Artists Series Exhibit. Artists' reception. Sunday, Nov. 20, 5-6 pm..

Sponsored by the Placitas Artists Series, serving the public for 25 years, the exhibit may be viewed during the full month of November, 9-1 M - F, and Sunday mornings, at the Presbyterian Church Community Room in Placitas, an historic town north of Albuquerque, 6 miles east of I25, exit 242 (Bernadillo and Placitas exit). Sept/Oct 2011. "Land and Light" Juried Show Millicent Rogers Museum Taos, NM. Opening reception Sat, Sept 17, 5-7 pm

Sept 17 - Oct 9, 2011. This 2nd Annual Juried Plein Air Painters of New Mexico Members Exhibition will be hosted again this year by The Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos, NM. The Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held at the Museum. On Sunday, September 18th, there will be a community Paintout on the grounds. Karen's two selected paintings are : "Oxbow Tetons" and "Sunrise Springs"' both painted plein air, on location.

July 2011 PAPNM Johnsons of Madrid Gallery Exhibit. Opening reception Sat, July 2 3-5 pm.

The Johnsons of Madrid Gallery will have an exhibit for the plein air painters of New Mexico (PAPNM), the month of July 2011. The gallery is located across the street from the Mineshaft Tavern in Madrid on Highway 14 near the south end of town. Karen's paintings are "Aspen Creek", "Taos Morning" and "Shady Lakes Lily Pond".

2009 Annual Plein Air Painters of New Mexico Paintout and Exhibition

5th Annual Paintout, Exhibition & Sale for 50 Plein Air Painters of New Mexico painting local scenery throughout the week of July 25th: High on Taos! The Opening Reception was Saturday evening, August 1, from 5-8 pm at the Wilder Nightingale Fine Arts Gallery, Taos, NM (575-758-3255). Jana Van Wyk, fellow plein air artist, came to the paintout from North Carolina and and we drove to sites together each day: including the John Dunn Bridge, the Rio Grande Overlook, the Overland Sheep Store just north of Taos proper, with a breathtaking mountain view and the St Francis of Asisi Church - up at dawn each day and collapsing early every evening. We each submitted two paintings for the show. You may see Jana's work at www.janavanwyk.blogspot.com, with some photos of us as we paint. It's been a great week and I'm anxious for you to view the results. Exhibition Dates: Aug 1 -16, 2009.
